Commercial Profile
By the late 1950s Trotwood had become the region’s primary shopping hub. Today our thriving commercial center features nearly 150,000 consumers living within a five-mile radius. Big boxes like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sears, Target, K-Mart and Best Buy stand alongside successful mid-sized and small shop retailers. Recent initiatives include:
• Salem Avenue Corridor Beautification, featuring major streetscape and beautification improvements at Trotwood’s Southern Gateway and four other sites
• Former Builder’s Square purchased, by Allen Refrigeration with plan to consolidate all its business at a single location
• Nenonene Medical Center, a $2 million medical development with 20-25 jobs ready to begin construction on a former movie theatre site
• Major City-owned properties available for redevelopment
