J.W. Devers & Sons Inc
One of the City’s R&E success stories involves Trotwood’s oldest business, J.W. Devers & Son, Inc., first opened in 1895. In looking for a way to expand this 110-year old business located in Olde Town, Devers President Jerry Haupt turned to the City of Trotwood. Through its collaborative efforts with its Business First resource partner CountyCorp, the City assisted Devers with:
• Obtaining a $450,000 grant
• Facilitating their purchase of a former Trotwood Fire Station across the street
• Redeveloping this historic structure into their Mobility Division operations, which adapts standard vans into handicapped accessible vehicles
