Landmark Development

Suffering the same fate as numerous communities nationwide, by the mid-90s Trotwood’s indoor shopping mall at the heart of its Salem Avenue Retail Corridor had begun a steady decline.  In recent years City Council turned things around by developing a comprehensive plan, purchasing the site and completing the mall’s demolition.  Construction will soon begin on The Landmark, a unique public-private mixed-use partnership.  When completed this prime visitor destination will feature:

• Major roadway realignments to provide easier access

• Freestanding stores with plentiful green space

• Sears and Home Depot staying on as anchors

• Nationally known multi-screen cinema complex

• Name brand retailers and restaurants

• New public library branch, higher education branch campus and City Hall
